A handoff built
around the details.

The website describes a proposed service. Delivery partners, final prices, coverage and customer terms are being confirmed. Chat and email inquiries are not bookings, quotes or technical service agreements.

The proposed report

The Home Technology Handoff Report would record accepted devices, make/model and location, observed functional checks, account-transfer findings, warranty references and unresolved items. A fictional report example shows the intended format. Inclusion in an inventory does not mean a device was tested, transferred or accepted for service.

Seller release and data handling

Seller account release, a local reset, cloud recordings/history, third-party access, subscriptions and buyer enrollment are separate steps. Each requires the right authorization and manufacturer process. Some systems should preserve their programming. We do not promise universal deletion from every cloud account, backup or integration, and we do not propose resetting every device.

The current account owner enters their own credentials. Changes wait for the agreed possession time, including leasebacks. Unresolved ownership locks follow the manufacturer's process; no bypass is offered.

Observed checks, not a home inspection

An accepted provider would document the agreed test, conditions, date and result. Outcomes can include observed working, issue observed, not tested, pending access or specialist required. A device responding during a visit is not a guarantee of future performance, a security audit, an electrical/HVAC diagnosis or a substitute for a licensed home inspection.

Warranty findings

Documentation would identify supplied purchase records, manufacturer/model terms, stated duration and transfer conditions where verifiable. Coverage may be limited to an original purchaser, require registration or proof, have expired, or remain unknown. A report does not create a warranty, promise claim approval or transfer a subscription automatically.

How planning prices work

Focused Handoff: planning price $599, up to 5 accepted devices, 2 apps or control platforms and 90 minutes total onsite. Connected Home: planning price $899, up to 10 accepted devices, 3 apps or control platforms and 3 hours total onsite. Custom / Estate has a written quote after scope review, with no advertised starting price. There is no square-footage cutoff: all home sizes are considered. These planning figures need actual provider acceptance and a written quote; bookings are not open.

Device, platform and onsite time allowances apply together. A device is a physical endpoint; hubs and bridges count separately from accessories. A multi-room AV, Control4 or other dealer-managed system is not one ordinary device. Additional devices, complex systems and specialist work need a custom scope. Layout, equipment spread and access affect required time, without automatically forcing a larger home into a higher package. Uncertain system details need review, not an automatic higher price. A time allowance does not guarantee every item can be completed. Extra work, travel outside the accepted zone, applicable tax, hardware and subscriptions must be stated before booking.

Work that needs separate qualification

Complex audio/theater programming, Control4/Savant/Crestron recovery, alarm or monitoring work, locks/rekeying, garage or gate access, wiring, electrical changes, HVAC, plumbing, pool equipment, solar/batteries, EV charging and life-safety work require separately accepted specialist scope and any applicable licensed delivery. We do not advertise Home Tech Transfer as a licensed technical contractor.

Who would do the work

Home Tech Transfer is developing coordination and documentation. Technical work would be contracted directly with the provider named in the written quote and carried out by appropriately qualified personnel. No provider relationship, certification, manufacturer partnership or brand-wide support guarantee is implied by the device examples or logos.

AI and human help

The current chat assistant can explain the proposed service and help organize general questions. It cannot confirm availability, make a booking, provide a binding quote, remotely control a device, or create a human support ticket. It can make mistakes. A dedicated SMS number and paid human support coverage are still being arranged; no human response deadline is currently promised.
